About me
I recently completed my PhD in Statistics at the University of Georgia, advised by Prof. Ping Ma, and I am joining the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai as a postdoctoral researcher in computational biology. My work sits between statistics and biology: I build methods for high-dimensional biological data such as spatial transcriptomics, multi-omics measurements, and biological sequences.
I care about more than just prediction accuracy. I try to make models that are interpretable and that can report how confident they are, and I keep them tied to the underlying biology. The tools I use include non-parametric statistics, diffusion models, ensemble learning, network analysis, and large language models.
I have authored more than 20 papers across statistics, bioinformatics, and biomedical research, and I collaborate with labs at Mount Sinai, UGA, and IBM Research.
